Tirhani Auctioneers launched its technical auction division in 2020 with the aim of diversifying the company’s business offering.

Tirhani Auctioneers was as a member of a three-party consortium (Nera Consortium) that executed the 2022 spectrum auction on behalf of the Independent Communication Authority of South Africa (ICASA).

ICASA’s Simultaneous Multiple Round Auction (SMRA) raised R14.4 billion for the national fiscus from the available 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 2600 MHz, and 3500 MHz radio frequency spectrum bands. This historic auction represents a significant milestone for the provision of national broadband wireless access services to all South Africans. A massive achievement for Tirhani Auctioneers maiden spectrum auction.

The success of the ICASA 2022 spectrum auction has created the opportunity for Tirhani Auctioneers to establish itself as a credible technical auction service provider. The company has ambitions to continue to provide spectrum auctions and expand its area of focus to include energy auctions for local and African markets.
